I found this link through the Guardian Higher Education Network. I think they do an excellent job even just linking to somewhere else.

Apparently the external forces are such that universities need to make decisions whatever they think about learning design.
I wonder if the Guardian could include a bit more in print about virtual worlds? It often seems that this only turns up in some extra pages from a sponsor. Could there be more in the main Education reports and comment?

Kolb recycled and in draft
On Will Pollard's Posterous blog there is a cut and paste from a version of a Kolb cycle intended to be easier to compare with a Deming cycle. The original was found through a Tweet and blog by Steve Wheeler. (@timbuckteeth) .
John Burgoyne has commented on this and mentioned a new paper- EASTERN EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING: EASTERN PRINCIPLES FOR LEARNING WHOLENESS by MAI P. TRINH and
DAVID A. KOLB. I have found a draft version available online-
http://learningfromexperience.com/media/2012/02/eastern-experiential-learning.pdf
Of course it will be worthwhile to find the Special Issue of the Journal of Career Planning and Adult Development. For one thing the diagrams will be in the right place. But this version is interesting and I am planning some time to read it. It follows on from John Burgoyne's talk, the second part with projections on Asian values and consumption.

Games, link to podcast with much theory
I am still waiting for ExitReality3D to explain what is the future of Twinity. Obviously I have a specific interest in this. There could be many extensions to the #mtw3 event.
Meanwhile here is a link to a podcast with much context to ideas. Worth a listen if you have some time.

Second Life and Virtual Action Learning
More on this topic later. For now I just want to pass on this photo of my colleague Sally Potter who is so far alone in visiting Second Life as well as meeting us in Twinity. She has visited Terra Incognita and plans to return.
There is a video from #mamllnet and I understand more will be available soon.
Scientific Leadership, more detail needed
My colleague Will Pollard has blogged about the recent talk by John Burgoyne.
http://will789gb.posterous.com/scientific-leadership-still-looking-for-clues
The blog links to video of the talk. This idea of "leadership science" is well worth looking at. I have also found a video of a talk by Peter Checkland. Lancaster University TV can do an excellent job. I normally live in the high definition world of Twinity but I realise this can be represented on video. Some of the lighting on YouTube is just a bit dodgy but anyway I am going off topic.
There will be a face to face event in September. The more video people watch in advance the more time there will be for conversation.
