The new shorter Keynote clips on YouTube #mtw3

Here are the new shorter clipsfrom the talk by John Burgoyne at MAMLLnet. This forms the keynote for #mtw3. The full clips are still available on YouTube, and the earlier versions. Please use the tags #Design and #Ethics with #mtw3 when posting a comment somewhere else. The blank space at the end is to add links. You can add directly to the Soundcloud versions in previous post.

Burgoyne Keynote now starts with shorter clips #mtw3

This week there is another update on the Management Theory at Work content. It seems to have a basis in design science for organisation and teaching. The conclusion at the Work Foundation could well be around academic publishing though sound is another example. The mergers of publishers could follow a pattern seen with record labels.

Will Pollard has loaded to Soundcloud a couple of clips from John Burgoyne's talk at #MAMLLnet which is also a keynote for #mtw3. There has been feedback that the full video on YouTube is too long. Both these sound clips are under five minutes. Personally I think that five hours of video is not too much to suggest as the equivalent of a day event. Then again I notice that the Work Foundation often arranges events for a couple of hours starting with breakfast. Maybe everything has to be quicker.

Soundcloud has a feature that comments can be added at precise moments in the talk. Please give this a try. I think there will also be a version on YouTube later but commenting here seems less well known.

YouTube homework ahead of next week #mtw3

Next week there is another fairly intensive phase for #mtw3 . Monday mostly based on Facebook, Tuesday Cloudworks and Wednesday on LinkedIn. My colleague Will Pollard will be on the Wild Show on Thursday morning and they may include some management theory between the music tracks.

The videos work best through Facebook but here is now about 5 hours. So this could take up most of a day. Please have a look during this week.

The new one is from Frances Pinter a couple of years ago but I notice it may be updated during Online Information.

Knowledge Unlatched is based at the Work Foundation. Previously extracts from a podcast were played on the Wild Show. The issues around academic publishing are a useful focus for discussions about innovation. So please have a look at this one, only 25 minutes.

Science 2 is an hour and a half. Not sure how to break this up, please post a video comment or something if you have some ideas.

Update on October event, Google doc now public

Apologies for the small size of the box on the previous post. You might think that Blogger and Google were well integrated but I can't find how to change the code I copied. So I have changed the Google Doc settings to be public and you can find the doc HERE.

By the way, Google has also changed my name to George Fox as I appear on the comment history. Not sure why.

Just in case, here is the text-

The virtual aspect is in background for the f2f . So far there has been little interest in Twinity. It can continue online but is not essential for the agenda above. There may be a link with academic publishing or promotion. Continues on Wild Show, Phonic FM Nov 1st

Another online occasion at end of October #mtw3

There will be another online version of #mtw3 on October 28th, 29th and 30th. There is a Google doc below. Last time seemed to work quite well with mostly YouTube on day one and LinkedIn on day two. I am hoping that there will be more about virtual worlds on day three as well as academic publishing. But even if few people visit me in Twinity I can join in with LinkedIn as well. Please let me know if you would like an invite to edit the Google doc. It could spread to two pages with more links. I am thinking about linking to other events when they fit in. There is an increasing number of clips on YouTube, some over an hour. So I hope people will watch these during October. I will post links during October. The previous online occasion was ahead of Cross Media Live. This one is ahead of the Futures Conference at the London College of Communication. This will probably include cross media issues. So there is a technology context for the management theory.
