Reminder of conference streams diagram

I think it is worth making a new link to this post from about a year that shows the conference streams as a triangle

Quality management might be close to Practice and this seems to be where much of the interest on LinkedIn is centred. Not just on our own group but on others that we link to. But the conference is intended to include the Speculative and Emancipatory streams also.

Diagram on quality and a learning loop

I have been asked by Will Pollard to post this diagram.

This blog is a useful place for diagrams and they are not so obvious in LinkedIn. It comes from a mailing list linked to MoSO, a Deming group based at the CQI. Apparently there is more material that could be available if there was some interest. This one is by Tony Brown and clearly shows Learning within a Deming quality loop.

I am happy to post any other versions in this blog. There are several ways of describing quality management and learning.

This weekend there is a meeting in Brussels about Buddhist Business. The blog has several links to useful content and there may be more after the event

In a short introductory interview, Joel Magnuson talks about his forthcoming book: The Approaching Great Transformation: Creating a New Commonwealth for the End of the Oil Age (Seven Stories Press, 2013).

I think this relates to the talk by John Burgoyne about avoiding the traffic jam scenario in China and other places.

Twinity beach as a sculpture gallery

I hope there may be some changes in attitude towards virtual worlds. My colleague Will Pollard often claims that the time is still not right, that UK broadband is not Twinity ready or some other reason based on normal opinions.

But I notice he has tried out placing sculpture on a beach. I know that Web Kirby has been suggesting Twinity as a base for a gallery. Now there is 3D printing it should be possible to move models in various ways.

Not sure if these links work. Search for Cross Media Live and hope is LCC will be near the top. Cross Media is about the same issues and reasons why LC Communication is no longer LC Printing.

Good to see more attention for video. Virtual worlds could be next.

This week there is another update on the Management Theory at Work content. It seems to have a basis in design science for organisation and teaching. The conclusion at the Work Foundation could well be around academic publishing though sound is another example. The mergers of publishers could follow a pattern seen with record labels.

Will Pollard has loaded to Soundcloud a couple of clips from John Burgoyne's talk at #MAMLLnet which is also a keynote for #mtw3. There has been feedback that the full video on YouTube is too long. Both these sound clips are under five minutes. Personally I think that five hours of video is not too much to suggest as the equivalent of a day event. Then again I notice that the Work Foundation often arranges events for a couple of hours starting with breakfast. Maybe everything has to be quicker.
